Shinsei Bank has been a member of the SBI Group since December 2021. Effective January 4, 2023, Shinsei Bank will be renamed SBI Shinsei Bank.
The new trade name defines that we are a member of the SBI Group, while respecting the culture and philosophy of the SBI Shinsei Bank Group.
We will incorporate the speed, entrepreneurial spirit and cutting-edge technologies of the SBI Group to provide products, services and functions that are convenient for our customers. We are grateful for your continuing patronage.
You can continue using your Shinsei Bank account as before.
- No changes will be made to branch names, branch codes, account numbers and our bank code (0397).
- You can continue using your cash card, PIN, various applications and log-in password in the same manner as before.
Matters to note on and after January 4, 2023:
- The bank name to be designated for remittances and fund transfers will be “SBI新生銀行 (SBI Shinsei Bank).”
Remittances and fund transfers from other financial institutions designating “Shinsei Bank” as the payee bank will be accepted until March 30, 2023. However, such instructions will not be accepted on and after March 31, 2023. (Such remittances and fund transfers will be rejected and returned.) On and after January 4, 2023, please designate “SBI新生銀行 (SBI Shinsei Bank)” as the payee bank in the procedures for remittances and fund transfers. - Our website URL and the sender’s name of various e-mails will be successively changed to “sbishinseibank.co.jp,” “SBI新生銀行/SBI Shinsei Bank” and “…＠sbishinseibank.co.jp.” Please make relevant changes to the bookmarks and e-mail receipt settings, if any, on your devices.
Remittances and fund transfers addressed to Shinsei Bank during the period between December 30, 2022 and January 4, 2023:
- Due to IT system maintenance operations for changing the trade name, remittances and fund transfers addressed to Shinsei Bank will not be accepted during the following period:

About the trade name change
Effective January 4, 2023, the Bank will be renamed “株式会社SBI新生銀行,” “SBI Shinsei Bank, Limited.”
Shinsei Bank has been a member of the SBI Group since December 2021. Accordingly, the name change clearly signifies our determination to promote business as the group as a whole, in a more timely and sophisticated manner.
About cash cards and ledgers/vouchers
No changes will be made to the bank code, branch codes, or account numbers.
You can continue using cash cards and PIN. Re-issuance of cash cards is not needed.
Promissory notes and checks issued under the old trade name “Shinsei Bank” are effective even after the bank name is changed.
You can continue using the return envelopes and documents bearing the old trade name even after the bank name is changed. In some cases, we might send you the latest version of such documents because they are sometimes revised after changing the bank name.
About ATMs
You can continue using ATMs in the same manner as before.
About account transfers and remittances
When making remittances or fund transfers, please designate “SBI新生銀行 (SBI Shinsei Bank)” as the payee bank.
The names of remitter and branch remain unchanged. However, the name of remitting bank will be changed to “SBI Shinsei Bank.”
Please check whether your bank name has changed in January 2023 as responses differ by financial institution.
No change is required for your Shinsei Bank account registered with us.
No action is required. Account transfers will be conducted as usual.
Please register “Shinsei Bank” if you register your account by December 31, 2022, and “SBI Shinsei Bank” if you register your account in or after January 2023.
You need to ask the senders (your employer and transaction parties) to conduct remittances with “SBI Shinsei Bank” as the beneficiary from January 4, 2023. Remittances with Shinsei Bank as the beneficiary are accepted until March 30, 2022 but will not be accepted from March 31, 2023.
About other transactions
On and after January 4, 2023, designate “SBI SHINSEI BANK, LTD.” and SWIFT Code “LTCBJPJT-(HED)” as the payee bank name for remittance. (Our SWIFT Code remains unchanged.)
Applicants for housing loans under our screening process do not have to take any additional measures, such as resubmission of applications.
As a general rule, housing loan borrowers do not have to take any additional measures. We will separately advise borrowers requiring additional procedures on a case-by-case basis.
Housing loan balance certificates as of the year-end which are issued in or before December 2022 bear the old trade name. Without modification, you can use them for housing loan tax deduction filings.
About internet banking
Effective January 4, 2023, changes will be made to the name of internet banking services and the URL of log-in page. “Shinsei PowerDirect” will be renamed “PowerDirect" and the URL will be changed to:

You can continue using applications already downloaded on your device. If you are going to download applications on or after January 4, 2023, you can search for the relevant application by entering “SBI Shinsei Bank” or “____ application.”
Effective January 4, 2023, the URL of the Bank’s website will be changed to “www.sbishinseibank.co.jp.” This change is scheduled for 00:00, January 4, 2023.
Effective January 4, 2023, the sender’s name of our e-mails will be changed from “新生銀行” to “SBI新生銀行” and “SBI Shinsei Bank.”
About products and services
Effective January 4, 2023, partial changes will be made to the names of products and services containing the title “新生” or “Shinsei” therein. These changes will have no impact on the details of contracts for such products. Our website, applications and the names of our products and services will be updated to the new name sequentially.
